Walters’ Pumpkin Patch has hours of entertainment for families of all ages. Our new O’Play Barn and Corral, Mountain Boo, the Corn Maze, Pedal Cars and Boats, Trike or Treat Track, the new Jumping Pillow, plus many other attractions will give your family a full day of fun at the farm. Our gift shops hold lots of fall decorating notions and ideas, squashes, pumpkins, gourds, wreaths….just to please the shopper in the family. And don’t forget to try our exclusive products made right here at the pumpkin patch: our pumpkin patch salsa, pumpkin butter, cream of pumpkin soup, and pumpkin chili in our own pumpkin-shaped canning jar! It’s an original, one of a kind item! At Walters’ “WE HARVEST MEMORIES”.

A Pavillion which seats up to 250 is available for weddings, reunions or corporate gatherings.

El Dorado State Park and Lake

Where Special Events HappenrnEl Dorado Lake is located just north and east of the City of El Dorado at the edge of the scenic Flint Hills. The lake has approximately 8,000 surface acres of water with 98 miles of shoreline. There are approximately 6,000 acres of land available for public hunting and approximately 4,000 acres of developed parks and recreation areas. A variety of campsites, facilities, utility hookups and several shower houses are located throughout the park area. All total nearly 1,100 capsites offer visitors the outdoor experience. New to the Park are the two delux cabins. These cabins feature a furnished kitchen, a full bathroom with shower, a separate bedroom, and a sleeping loft. The deluxe cabins will sleep from six to ten persons. Cabin rentals can be obtained by calling the State Park Office at 316-321-7180.

Butler Community College

El Dorado has been home to Butler Community College since it was founded in 1927. The then El Dorado Junior College was originally housed within the town’s Junior High School. Today the college is located at the southwest corner of Haverhill and Towanda. The El Dorado campus is home to 256 students living on campus. We are proud to serve over 2500 students who attend classes at our site.

Butler encompasses a five-county service area including Butler, Chase, Marion, Greenwood, and Morris counties with centers in Andover, El Dorado, Marion, Eureka, Council Grove, Rose Hill and at Wichita’s McConnell Air Force Base. Butler serves more than 8,000 credit students through more than 26 different community locations, while providing a broad range of academic, technical, customized and noncredit courses.
