Leavenworth City Tour – A guide, provided by the Leavenworth Convention & Visitors Bureau will step on bus, that is provided by your group. Points of interest include the historic downtown, historic homes, the Riverfront Community Center Union Depot, Carroll Mansion, the United States Federal Penitentiary, the Dwight D. Eisenhower Veterans Affairs Medical Center. The tour lasts at least on hour. The charge is $4.00 per person with minimum of 20 people.

Fort Leavenworth Tour – A guide will join your group to tour Ft. Leavenworth’s well preserved post, pointing out many historical buildings and sites. Points of interest include Memorial Chapel, the Command and General Staff College, Oergon-Santa Fe Trail marks, Buffalo Soldier Monument and a National Cemetery. There is also a self-guided tour available if individual cars are to be used.

Frontier Army Museum Tour – One of the finest collections of horse drawn vehicles used in the westward expansion of this country, covering the period 1817 – 1917. There is an audio-visual slide program on the history of Fort Leavenworth as well as exhibits and a Children’s “hands on” Exhibit Room. The tour of the museum lasts about 45 minutes.

Carroll Mansion Tour – This is a guided tour of the 19th century 16-room victorian mansion furnished in the style of the period. The tour lasts about one hour. Fee: $4 for adults, (must be scheduled in advance)

Eisenhower Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center Tour – Tour lasts from one to two and a half hours, depending upon interest. Teenagers to adults are welcome. Contact: 913-682-2000, ext. 2017 or 2018.

“Harvey Girl” Luncheons – Step back into the late 1800’s when Fred Harvey was helping tame the West with his train depot restaurants and the”Harvey Girls”. Upon arriving at the Riverfront Community Center, which is housed in an 1888 Union Depot, you will be welcomed by the girls and a lovely meal will be served, followed by a short presentation about Mr. Harvey and the Harvey Girls. Reservations must be made two weeks in advance with a minimum of 20 persons.
